In just a few weeks, many requests from nonprofits have come to our attention regarding COVID-19 relief. We are granting funds for many categories including the Arts, Education, Recreation, Health, Civic, and Social. Here are a few examples of those we have supported this week.
At Home Independent Care, Inc. needed gowns, face shields, and face masks. They also anticipate additional expenses for wages related to overtime costs and COVID differential payments.
The Johnsburg Food Pantry requested funding for food as the demand had dramatically increased, stressing their budget.
CAPTAIN Community Human Services, Inc. asked for support to address the dramatic increase to their emergency food pantry, meal delivery program to school-age children, as well as their senior citizen support program.
Little Falls YMCA stated that due to recent COVID-19 pandemic health concerns, subsequent closures, and unemployment, they anticipate a continued increase in demand for pantry services.
St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation will procure 50,000 N-95 masks and 100,000 surgical masks that protect our frontline workers, preserving their ability to serve the community.
The Hyde Collection is an art museum and historic house founded in 1952. The Hyde protects and interprets a world-class permanent collection of more than 4,000 objects, hosts eleven changing gallery exhibitions each year (including the annual High School Juried Show), and serves around 25,000 visitors, including 4,000 students, annually. Currently, there are no visitors to the museum and no fundraisers, causing its revenue to decrease and require financial support. Many organizations like The Hyde are going virtual to offer the public access to their collections.
