Did you hear the MOOS? We won at the New York State Fair!
On Thursday, August 31st we received awards at the New York State Fair highlighting our insanely delicious, fresh, and local dairy products.
We won Best Milk, Best Flavored Milk, Best Chocolate Ice Cream, AND Best Open Class Ice Cream in New York State!
We submitted our milk, flavored milk, and ice cream for Cornell University to sample. Cornell ‘s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences partners with the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets to assess the quality, safety, and sensory taste of New York’s innovative dairy products. This recognition is part of Cornell’s New York State Milk Quality Improvement Program.
BEST MILK AWARD:
Stewart’s Shops took home the award for BEST MILK in New York State for the second year in a row! This award is based on scores generated through Cornell’s Voluntary Shelf-life (VSL) Program. Under this program, each NYS processing plant is visited and sampled at least two times each year. Milk samples are judged based on microbial analyses, fat determination, freezing point, and flavor.
We partner with 20 local dairy farms to source our raw milk. Our drivers pick up the milk daily and bring it to our manufacturing plant in Greenfield, NY. We then process and bottle it ourselves to ensure the highest quality standards. Did You Know? We pick up over 28,000 gallons of milk EACH DAY! If you wanted fresher milk, you’d have to buy a cow!
BEST FLAVORED MILK AWARD:
Not only did we take home the award for Best Milk, but we were named first place in the Flavored Milk category as well!
Some families use gallons of milk at a time and other households just need a quart. Stewart’s Shops offers a variety of milk flavors and packaging sizes. You can take home a gallon, half gallon, quart, or 16 oz Refresher of Stewart’s Milk.
And why not spice things up with some fun flavors? Stewart’s Shops has an extensive line of flavored milk and dairy drinks, all made with our fresh and local milk! You can enjoy flavors like strawberry milk, cappuccino milk, classic chocolate, and peanut butter chocolate flavored milks! To keep it fresh, we also offer rotational flavors throughout the year like our popular mint flavored Shenanigan Shake, or our brand-new Cookies & Cream Dairy Shake. You can even top off your coffee with Stewart’s half and half, or Eggnog (trust us, you should try it!)
To celebrate these awards, we will once again be giving our customers double punches on their Milk Club Cards from September 4th, to September 10th! For every half gallon of Stewart’s milk, juice, or Refresher purchased, you will get TWO punches on your Milk Club Card, or FOUR punches for every gallon! The Milk Club is accepted in all Stewart’s Shops. After ten punches, you receive either a free half gallon of Stewart’s milk, juice or Refresher or half off the price of a gallon of milk.
BEST CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM AWARD:
This is the first year the New York State Fair has incorporated an ice cream category, and Stewart’s Shops took home some blue ribbons here, too!
Because what could be better than the Best Milk in New York State? Stewart’s ICE CREAM made with the Best Milk in New York State! The quality and flavor of Stewart’s milk provides the perfect foundation for creating delicious, award-winning, ice cream.
It’s not just chocolate…it’s Stewart’s Chocolate! Our delectable Chocolate ice cream came in first place, winning the Best Chocolate Ice Cream award! This category included all chocolate flavored ice creams with no inclusions or variegates to be judged, and Stewart’s Shops came out on top!
BEST OPEN CLASS ICE CREAM AWARD:
The Open Class Ice Cream award is EXTRA sweet, because it includes ALL flavors of ice cream other than vanilla and chocolate that may contain variegates or inclusions. We submitted our Mint Cookie Crumble ice cream as well as our Peanut Butter Pandemonium ice cream! Mint Cookie Crumble took the first place award, while Peanut Butter Pandemonium was a very close second!
Mint Cookie Crumble and Peanut Butter Pandemonium are long-time favorites for our customers! Mint Cookie Crumble is a cool mint ice cream with chocolate cookie crumble fudge swirls, while Peanut Butter Pandemonium is a smooth vanilla ice-cream jam-packed with peanut butter cup pieces, smooth peanut butter, and swirls of fudge! Did You Know? BOTH flavors also won awards at the World Dairy Expo in 2022!
