Stewart’s Shops is proud to support Captain, in Glenville NY, with a $5,000 donation.
Our donation will be for ongoing support for many of their programs. Captain‘s mission is to strengthen their communities through personal growth and self-sufficiency.
With over 20 programs, Captain addresses the core issues impacting children in our society. Issues like youth homelessness, poverty, bullying, hunger, academic failure, family dysfunction and more, are all tackled head on by Captain’s programs.
In the past, our donations have supported their youth shelter, Street Outreach Center, and their food pantry.
Their youth shelter provides a safe environment for teens that are homeless, who have runaway or are in an unsafe situation. The shelter also provides case management services, daily activities, and encouragement from trained adults they can trust. The shelter is available 24 hours a day for anyone who needs help.
The Street Outreach Center connects dedicated staff members to youth who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless. Staff members meet children where they are and provide necessities, transportation, food, clothing, and more support services. The food pantry is available to any member of Saratoga County who needs food or hygiene products. Community members can place their order right online and pick it up at the Captain location in Clifton Park.
The programs are directly focused on helping children in need, something at Stewart’s Shops we believe is important. Our Holiday Match campaign raises money to donate to programs and organizations centered around helping children. In 2021, our Holiday Match program supported over 1,700 programs.
Holiday Match
Holiday Match checks are scheduled to be mailed out in mid-March. Together, Stewart’s Shops and our customers raised over $2 million for only the second time in Holiday Match History. With over 1,700 applicants, we are so excited to see all the programs and organizations this year’s funds will support.
