You will soon see five Stewart’s Express locations popping up in the Capital Region and Baldwinsville. But what exactly is a Stewart’s Express?
It is a smaller footprint shop that we are testing that doesn’t have the space for ice cream cones or milkshakes, but will offer a limited selection of salads and sandwiches. And you can still get select flavors of pre-packaged Stewart’s ice cream and all your favorite dairy products.
It’s ironic that we are opening up the largest Stewart’s Shops we’ve ever had in the north county at 4200 sq. feet, and at the same time testing these scaled down Stewart’s Express locations.
According to Stewart’s Shops president, “It’s interesting to be going in both directions at the same time. We talk a lot about not having a one size fits all while still maintaining enough consistency that we keep our operational efficiencies of scale.”
