Holiday Match Checks are being put to good use!
Organizations have wasted no time starting their programs and activities supported by Holiday Match. One of the best parts about Holiday Match is that the funds support programs year round.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County received their Holiday Match check for ongoing support of their mission. They work with children and teens to create special one-to-one mentorship to help them reach their potential. Through their programs children reach higher aspirations, build confidence, avoid risky behaviors, and enjoy educational success. We have been supporting Big Brothers Big Sister for over 20 years through monetary and product donations.
STRIDE Adaptive Sports
STRIDE Adaptive Sports also received their Holiday Match funds. Their mission is to help individuals with special needs through life changing, inclusive sport recreation programs. They promote healthy, active, and fun lifestyles to build communities without boundaries. Their programming has a focus on youth programming in individual lifetime sports. STRIDE teaches 11,000 free and low-cost adaptive sport lessons in 18 different sports. Kids can learn to ski, practice archery, be a part of the sled hockey team and so much more! Their Holiday Match funds will go to new equipment and training of volunteers.
The Wild Center at Tupper Lake
The Wild Center at Tupper Lake were recipients of Holiday Match funds. Their mission is to show the world that nature and people can coincide. The 115-acre museum is in the heart of the Adirondack State Park and provides engaging science-based learning opportunities for people of all ages. At the Wild Center, visitors can explore nature trails, rivers, ponds, interact with animals, canoe and so many other great outdoor activities. They also offer indoor options to experience even more cool Adirondack centered activities. The museum is a national leader of informal science education and serves over 100,000 onsite visitors and thousands of more virtual visitors every year. They will be using their funds to help with the cost of their education programs.
