Giving Back to Our Communities

Just last week, Stewart’s Shops provided donations to 141 groups totaling over $30,700! These donations were made in the form of product, gift certificates, and monetary support. Stewart’s Shops and related family foundations support local charities, donating $7.5 million annually.

One example of how we give back is our recent donation to The Saratoga Springs Community Garden at Wesley. Stewart’s Shops donated a Make Your Own Sundae kit towards The Saratoga Springs Community Garden at Wesley during their ice cream social.

Chairman of the Board, Bill Dake, was an original donator to the community garden. The Saratoga Springs Community Garden at Wesley has been a resounding success since its first year in 2012.

According to their website, “Susan Bokan, a Saratoga Springs resident who discovered the happiness that vegetable and flower gardens can bring to life, managed to find the money and recruit the people needed to transform a wet, weedy bit of land next to Embury Apartments into a beautiful and productive haven for many. The Embury and Woodlawn residents join with folks from the greater Saratoga community who come to garden in the space. Many new friendships have begun as gardeners exchange tips and help one another.”

It was a wonderful time, and an example of Stewart’s commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.
