Port Henry is a hamlet in the town of Moriah. On the western banks of Lake Champlain, this town has a year-round population of 4,700. Hundreds of people flood here in the summer and campgrounds fill up to maximum capacity.
This town just lost its only grocery store, Macs’ Market. With the closure of Mac’s Market, residents now have to drive close to 20 miles to a Walmart in Ticonderoga or 24 miles to a Hannaford Supermarket in Middlebury, Vermont.
Stewart’s Shops plans to offer an expanded grocery line in this shop and will open its new store in summer of 2020.
