Recently, Stewart’s Shops provided Green Meadow Elementary School in East Greenbush, NY, with some Single Scoop Cone gift certificates as an incentive for their annual canned soup drive. This event, cleverly named the Soup-er Bowl, has been taking place for 9 years! The students at the school brought in nonperishable items throughout the drive, all of which benefited the CoNSERNS-U food pantry in Rensselaer County.
CoNSERNS-U is a program of Catholic Charities Tri-County Services. Not only do they operate a food pantry, they provide emergency assistance, holiday food distributions, and more. The students at Green Meadow Elementary were able to collect over 1,500 cans this year to donate to the pantry. During difficult times like we are facing now, organizations like CoNSERNS-U need as much support as possible, and we were proud to help these students give back to their community! One lucky classroom was chosen as a winner and were given the Single Scoop Cone certificates as a prize.
