Stewart’s Shops Attends the South Glens Falls High School Marathon Dance

South High students at the marathon dance.

This past weekend was the 43rd annual South High Marathon Dance, and it was a success yet again! Students and the South Glens Falls community gathered over the weekend and danced for 28 hours to raise money for local individuals and charities.

The marathon dance is a fun tradition for Stewart’s Shops, as we attend every year with our ice cream cart in tow volunteering to support the annual fundraiser. This year we set a record by serving 100 gallons of ice cream at the event- that’s over 1,700 cones and dishes! We also offered our support by providing breakfast items for the school’s cafeteria such as juice, milk, and eggs. The students work up quite the appetite dancing for so long, and there are lots of volunteers hard at work behind the scenes preparing meals for them.

We always have a blast scooping at this event and seeing the kids dancing for a good cause. This year our booth generated $3,723 in proceeds, and the event itself raised $801,281.38 for 37 deserving recipients.

Stewart’s Shops is proud to support this event and many others. This past week alone we were able to donate $94,425 to 105 organizations through products, gift certificates, and monetary support. Check out the listing below:
