Stewart’s Shares: Holiday Match

Family Counseling Center representatives with their Holiday Match Check

Holiday Match is the gift that gives all year round.

We love seeing all the good the Holiday Match Funds support.

The JRC Foundation received over $2,000!

The funds will support their Bright Beginnings Early Learning Center. Through their programs, the JRC Foundation provides integrated preschool, prekindergarten, and childcare programs for both disabled and typically developing children. Their programs support any child from 18 months to five years of age. Each year over 65% of the children enrolled with the foundation have special needs. Children will receive special education along with sessions of speech, occupational and physical therapy.

Albany County Action Partnership uses their funds for their Early Head Start (EHS) program.

This program serves children and their families from birth to three-years old. The EHS program utilizes a two-generation approach, designed to promote healthy development in very young children while positively supporting parents/guardians in their role as their child’s first and most influential teacher. They have an onsite Family Engagement Specialist to help navigate the school system and community resources. EHS also supports healthy development by providing all children with regular medical examinations and developmental assessments and ensures no child is hungry when they come into program by providing nutritious breakfasts and lunches daily. More than just childcare, EHS is a quality education program which supports very young children in healthy development and creating positive interactions with the world around them.

ARC Rensselaer were recipients of $1,750.

The Arc of Rensselaer County is an association for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Members are parents, professionals, and community members who are dedicated to fostering the inclusion of persons with disabilities in our communities. The money will be used to offset the cost of activities throughout the year for children. These activities like visiting farms, beach days, a Valley Cats game, movies, bowling and a day at the Great Escape as well as others would not be possible for the children to participate in given their economic resources.

The Family Counseling Center of Fulton County received funds again this year.

They  will be using their funds for a day at Christmas Land Christmas Land in Altamont, NY. The center has done this trip in previous years, and it is one of their favorites. The center operates an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, Domestic Violence Program & Safe Shelter, and many programs for children.
