Pint for a Pint

How does FREE ice cream sound?

Stewart’s has once again teamed up with the American Red Cross of Eastern NY to kick off the 6th annual Pint for a Pint Campaign. Stewart’s Shops donated 10,000 pint certificates valued at over $37,000!

How does it work?
Give a Pint, Get a Pint – of Stewart’s ice cream! If you donate blood during the month of June, you will get a certificate for a free pre-packaged pint of Stewart’s ice cream, non-dairy frozen dessert, or gelato that can be redeemed at any of our shops!

Just visit a blood drive in any of these counties in the month of June, and you will receive a certificate for a free pint of ice cream, non dairy frozen dessert or gelato.

Did you know? Every 2 seconds someone in the United States needs blood.
Blood and platelet donations often do not keep pace with hospital demand during the summer months.

Sweet Success
Thanks in part to “Give a Pint, Get a Pint” area blood donations exceeded the monthly expectation by 36% last June with more than 9100 units of blood donated last year.  Let’s beat that number in 2021! Since this program started, over 39,000 pints of blood have been donated and used to save lives.

And as an added bonus, COVID-19 antibody testing for donors will be extended through the end of July.

How to donate blood

Simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Blood and platelet donors can save time at their next donation by using RapidPass® to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of their donation, before arriving at the blood drive. To get started, follow the instructions at RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass or use the Blood Donor App.
