Stewart’s Shops is pleased to make a $25,000 contribution to the New York Animal Agriculture Coalition’s Mobile Dairy Experience.
This 53-foot trailer travels across New York State visiting fairs, festivals and schools, showing how dairy farmers care for their cows and how those efforts keep our refrigerators stocked with quality milk, cheese and ice cream.
“This is a creative way to tell the story of how products go from the farm to product to consumer,” said Eileen Jensen, executive director of the New York Animal Agriculture Coalition. “We wanted to create a unique opportunity that allows visitors to see every piece of the puzzle.”
A multi-year campaign backed by dairy farmers, dairy producers and agriculture organizations helped to bring the $1 million project to life.
“We understand how important dairy farmers are to our communities,” said Stewart’s Foundation president Susan Dake. “The Mobile Dairy Experience not only teaches young people about the benefits of milk and dairy, it is very accessible because it travels to where the kids and schools are.”
The Mobile Dairy Experience made its debut at the New York State Fair last year in Syracuse. The exhibit already has arrived in Syracuse for the 2025 State Fair.
After the fair, the mobile exhibit will continue traveling the state with stops planned at SUNY Cobleskill and the Hudson Valley Wine & Food Festival in Rhinebeck.
One of the biggest benefits of the exhibit is that it can travel to cities and other areas to teach the value of dairy in communities where the industry may not be as well known.
