Stewart’s Shops mailed Holiday Match checks this week to 1,829 organizations to support nonprofit children’s organizations across upstate New York, Vermont and western New Hampshire.
A total of more than $1.8 million in Holiday Match funds will be used to support education, health, recreation, arts and social service programs for children under the age of 18.
Since Stewart’s created Holiday Match 40 years ago, the program has raised more than $41 million.
“We could not do this without the support of our loyal customers,” said Stewart’s Shops director of philanthropy, Jennifer Frame. “Holiday Match is a great reminder that when people work together, our communities become stronger.”
What is Holiday Match?
The campaign collects money from our generous customers every holiday season between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Stewart’s doubles those donations and distributes those funds to support local 501c3 organizations, schools, churches and government-funded agencies to help their children’s programs.
This season, Stewart’s customers donated more than $900,000 to the Holiday Match campaign and Stewart’s doubled every cent.
Holiday Match funds will help support food pantries, reading programs, scout groups and youth sports to name a few of the 1,829 recipients.
