Stewart’s Shops and the American Red Cross are gearing up for a milestone 10th annual ‘Give a pint, Get a pint’ campaign, extending a program that has collected more than 104,000 blood donations since its inception in 2016.
The longstanding partnership has collected blood cells, platelets and plasma from nearly 61,000 donors over the first 9 years.
During the month of June, Stewart’s Shops will donate a certificate for a free pre-packaged pint of ice cream or gelato to anyone who donates blood at a participating Red Cross location.
“There is no sweeter way to address such a critical need than to reward all the thoughtful donors by giving them a certificate for a free pint of Stewart’s ice cream,” said Stewart’s president Chad Kiesow.
There is a growing need for blood donations to help treat accident victims, burn victims, cancer patients and community members recovering from surgery. Blood and platelet donations are needed every 2 seconds in the United States.

To kick off the 10th annual campaign, Stewart’s Shops will be dishing out free ice cream from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, June 2nd as the American Red Cross staff collects blood and plasma donations in their mobile blood drive unit at the Stewart’s Shops at 2 Wellness Way in Latham. Flavor the Cow and officials from the American Red Cross will be available to answer questions.
Donors who receive an ice cream pint certificate can redeem them for a free pre-packaged pint of ice cream or gelato at any of the 30 counties listed below:
Capital Region
Albany, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren and Washington
Central and Northern New York
Chenango, Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Onondaga, Oneida, Oswego, Otsego and St. Lawrence
Hudson Valley
