Senator Tedisco and Stewart’s Shops partner on safe summer bike helmet program

Giving back to your community with Senator Tedisco. Kids on bikes

Stewart’s teamed up with State Senator Jim Tedisco this month to kick off the 28th annual Safe Summer Bike Helmet Program.

To celebrate the program, Stewart’s Shops scooped free ice cream at the Southern Saratoga YMCA Summer Camp in Clifton Park during an event on July 8th.

“Senator Tedisco has spent many years encouraging children to stay safe and wear their helmets when they are riding their bikes and having fun,” said Stewart’s Shops president Chad Kiesow. “We are happy to support those efforts and what better way to do it than by rewarding kids with a free ice cream cone.”

The goal of the program is to encourage children and families to wear their helmets when they are biking, rollerblading or riding a scooter. To support those efforts, Stewart’s Shops donated 3,000 single-scoop ice cream certificates that the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department and a dozen police departments use to reward children who wear their helmets.

“Summer is the season for kids to have fun, but we can’t ever forget that they need to keep safety in mind,” said Senator Tedisco.
