Stewart’s is rolling out a new limited-edition half gallon ice cream flavor as a special thank you to the DeCrescente family, founders of DeCrescente Distributing Company in Mechanicville.
Starting this week, your local Stewart’s Shop will be carrying half gallons of Carmine’s Holiday Spumoni in recognition of the DeCrescentes, who donated $50,000 to support the Saratoga Hospital Foundation.
As a thank you, the DeCrescente family earned the unique prize of naming a Stewart’s half gallon ice cream flavor.
The family chose the flavor Carmine’s Holiday Spumoni. This limited-edition treat includes a layer of chocolate ice cream, a layer of cherry ice cream with Maraschino cherries and a nutty Pistachio ice cream.
“This kind of generosity not only allows us to bring another great ice cream flavor to the area, it is proof that giving back makes life a little sweeter,” said Chad Kiesow, president of Stewart’s Shops.
DeCrescente Distributing is a fourth-generation beverage distributor that has been heavily involved in supporting communities and charitable organizations since the business was founded by Angelo DeCrescente in 1948.
“We just feel fortunate that we are able to do something like this for the hospital,” said C.J. DeCrescente, third generation chief executive of DeCrescente Distributing.
The donation will be used to support programs at Saratoga Hospital.
“We are deeply grateful to the DeCrescente family for their extraordinary generosity and ongoing partnership,” said Kelly Armer, vice president of development at the Saratoga Hospital Foundation. “Their $50,000 gift supports Saratoga Hospital’s Community Benefit Programs, helping us meet the evolving health and wellness needs of our community. We also thank Stewart’s Shops for honoring the DeCrescente family in such a meaningful way—celebrating generosity that truly makes life a little sweeter.”
Stewart’s Shops will be carrying Carmine’s Holiday Spumoni for a limited time this holiday season.
