We recently donated $15,000 to Park Playhouse and The Cohoes Music Hall.  The Cohoes Music Hall is the fourth oldest music hall operating in the United States of America today. The hall is truly a Capital Region treasure.

Since 1874, The Cohoes Music Hall has been a hub for entertainment and culture in the Spindle City. With its ornate style, brilliant acoustics and intimate house, the Music Hall is a wonderful venue to see a play, a concert, a dance performance, and more!

Our recent donation will be for continuous support for the 2022 production season. Due to the pandemic, Park Playhouse and The Cohoes Music Hall had to switch their Scholastic Theatre program to be a virtual event. Each virtual production comes complete with activities and curriculum for teachers and access to the virtual production. The teaching packet allows students to engage in the creative process behind bringing a show to life on stage and introduces students to the core themes of the productions.

Themes of the 2022 productions are acceptance, friendship, individuality and more! The new play for this year is, “A year with Frog and Toad”.  The play is about to friends who learn to celebrate their differences and have a bond that can withstand anything.

The last two school years have been unlike anything students and teachers have faced before. The Scholastic Theatre Program has been a great outlet for everyone to learn valuable lessons in a fun and engaging way!
