Friday, November 11th is Veterans Day. Stewart’s Shops is a proud supporter of veteran organizations. During the month of November, we want to highlight a different veteran organization that we have supported in the past. Stewart’s Shops has supported over 140 Veteran Organizations just this year!
The veteran organization spotlight of the week is Homeward Bound Adirondacks. They offer year-round healing retreats in the Adirondacks for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder. These retreats provide team building exercises, therapy, hiking, etc. They also provide transportation to medical and mental health appointments.
In February 2022, Stewart’s Shops donated $5000 in Frank Dorchak’s memory. Frank was an active Board member since 2019 and devoted a tremendous amount of his time, energy and dedication to Homeward Bound Adirondacks.
Our donation will help finalize their plans for the Veterans Retreat Center. They continue to promote awareness about PTSD, Suicide Prevention and Veterans Court in the North Country.
