Our Make Your Own Scholarship Program has selected its 2022 recipients. This year the selection committee awarded nearly $500,000 in scholarships!
College is expensive. The Make Your Own Scholarship provides the funds necessary to pursue the privilege of higher education. Created over 20 years ago by Philly Dake, the Make Your Own Scholarship emphasizes that students are in control of their education. Although the scholarship provides the funds for an education, ultimately the responsibility to learn and grow lies with the recipients.
There are 92 students receiving funds this year. This year’s recipients will go on to study Business Administration, Cyber Security, Environmental Science, Political Science, Game Design & Development, and more.
Over 500 students have been awarded financial assistance, since the program began in 1999. Our Make Your Own Scholarship has awarded over $6 million for over 1,500 scholarships. On average, that’s more than $300,000 each year.
The immediate family members of any of our active Partners are eligible for the scholarship. The program has made college and career dreams come true and has lessened the financial burden on many families. We’ve seen the program help to shape scientists, musicians, performers, accountants, artists, business professionals, doctors, professors, and many other career paths.
