When it comes to privileged sales, those that involve alcohol, tobacco and lottery, the state has placed much personal responsibility on the employee. Many don’t realize that an improper sale can result in fines and jail time, which is above and beyond possible employment termination. Employees will ID anyone who appears to be 30 or under. They do reserve the right to ask ID from anyone else in the party involved in the transaction. If the requested IDs cannot be produced, or do not meet the ID requirements outlined in our state-approved training, the sale will be refused.
