You already know Stewart’s as a community partner. We strive to better the communities we serve with generous monetary and product donations. Most recently, Stewart’s Shops helped to make a new playground possible for the Eagle Elementary School in Delmar, NY.
Mission Completed
The Eagle Elementary Playground story started two years ago with a phone call asking for advice which then ended with a beautiful new playground for the Eagle Elementary School in Delmar NY. The PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) worked diligently over those years fundraising and working with the community to complete this much needed space they dreamed about. The PTO needed to raise more than $177,000 by 2019 and they were well underway by 2018. “We have already installed the Spider Climber and Zip Line. The kids LOVE this new equipment and are excited for the remainder of the project.” states Ray Kimmelblatt of the PTO.
Stewart’s Matching Campaign
Part of our commitment to giving back, Stewart’s offers a Matching Gift Campaign to those projects that are near completion. In May of 2018 we asked our customers of our Delmar and Elm Avenue Shops to donate for one week and we will match it, penny for penny up to $5,000. One week later we cut a check to the playground project for $2,644! Fast forward, on September 20, 2019, during the Back to School Picnic, they held a ribbon cutting to show off their hard work and dedication. It was a beautiful day and we think the photos speak for themselves!

Stewart’s gives $7.5 million annually. $5 million of it comes from the Dake Family Foundations so it does not impact our Partners ESOP/Profit Sharing.
