Our new shop in Altamont is open! The new and improved shop is a big improvement for the historic village of Altamont, with just over 1,700 residents. The new shop blends right in with the historic streetscape of this quaint village.
On Friday, November 20th, we celebrated this newly rebuilt shop with our customers, local Village Board members, and Capital Region Chamber of Commerce members. Our shop manager cut the ribbon to celebrate this achievement. And we celebrated all day with specials on gas, food and drinks.
In honor of this event, we donated $2,000 to the Altamont Free Library to increase both bandwidth and their catalog of e-books for digital circulation.
“Stewart’s is once again proving itself to be a ‘good neighbor’ in Upstate New York communities, this time right here in Altamont,” said Assemblywoman Patricia Fahy. “I commend Stewart’s for their donation of $2,000 to the Altamont Free Library to help expand its digital e-catalog and broadband access — critical public services needed more than ever amidst a socially distanced-COVID environment. The new store will also provide new jobs, and continue to attract residents and visitors alike to the historic Village of Altamont.”
